Seven friends go away for the weekend and end up trapped in a cabin with a killer who has a vendetta. Will their street smarts and knowledge of horror movies help them stay alive? Probably not.

“The Blackening” centers around a group of black friends who reunite for a Juneteenth weekend getaway only to find themselves trapped in a remote cabin with a twisted killer. Forced to play by his rules, the friends soon realize this ain’t no motherf****** game.

Directed by Tim Story (“Barbershop”, “Think Like A Man”, and “Ride Along”) and screenplay and story by Tracy Oliver (“Girls Trip” and “Harlem”) and Dewayne Perkins (“The Amber Ruffin Show” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”), “The Blackening” skewers genre tropes and poses the sardonic question; if the entire cast is black, who dies first?
